Boat Tour of Muziris Sites Soon

To be launched in six months by KSINC Kerala State Inland Navigation Corporation). In the first phase ten floating boat jetties were erected. Five out of 14 jetties will be readied by March 2012 and second phase to be completed in March 2013 at a total cost of Rs 4.60 crores from the 12^th finance commission. From Paravur to Kottapuram river side jetties will be completed in phase one. Boats could run at speeds of 6 to 10 knots per hour (each knot is 1.8 km). In the second phase, jetties will be built at Pattanam, Kodungallur, Pallipuram Fort and Gothuruthu. On land, tourists can proceed on bicycles, a few cycles have been donated by local people so far. There might be battery operated vehicles also for mass transport.
